Police say such solicitations happen every summer.

Two Michigan men were arrested last week for soliciting magazine subscriptions without a permit, said.

Police responded to a Sandy Hill Road residence Wednesday, July 18 at about 4:20 p.m., for a complaint of someone soliciting magazines without a permit, police said.

When police arrived, they found Ashnah Hopkins, 26, of Glennie, Mich., in the roadway walking away from the residence, according to police.

According to Lt. Steven Hennelly, such solicitations  happen "every summer" and there is no scam intended in the solicitations.
