Cops: Chatham 'Fared Well' in Thunderstorm

Police say towns sustained no major damage.

While residents of other Morris County municipalities wake up to fallen trees and live wires Friday, and made it through largely unscathed.

Chief Philip J. Crosson said emergency services had a quiet night in the severe weather. "We did not have any power outages, trees down or other emergencies related to the storm."

Lt. Steven Hennelly said the township came through the storm likewise unscathed, with "nothing to report."

The receievd one call for a wire down and possible transformer problem during the storm.

There were a few power outages in Chatham Township, with the numbers dwindling to under five by mid-Friday morning. The JCP&L website storm map shows there are under five customers in the Chathams currently without power

Chatham typically experiences some minor flooding and power outages in severe storms. During in August 2011 and the , residents had trees fall on homes and many went without power for days.
