Chatham Man Arrested for Allegedly Buying Alcohol for Minors

Police arrested a 49-year-old Chatham man.

Police arrested a Chatham man for allegedly buying alcohol and giving it to three minors, Chatham Borough Police said Monday.

Patrolmen Brian Maher and Daryle Kelly responded to the area of the parking lot on a report that several juveniles were in possession of alcohol that had been purchased for them by an adult male, police said.

With the help of a witness, the three juveniles were located on Hillside Avenue, according to police. Each of them had in their possession a 23.5 ounce can of Four Loko Malt beverage, which is 12 percent alcohol, police said.

Police said the adult male who purchased the alcohol was located on Fairmount Avenue and identified as Frank Cirillo, Jr., 49, of Chatham.

Cirillow was charged with providing alcoholic beverages to minors and was released pending further court action, police said.

The juveniles were turned over to their parents and will be handled by the juvenile officer, according to police.
