A car crashed into a tree in front of a home on North Passaic Avenue in Chatham Borough on Thursday afternoon.

The accident occurred on a front yard near the road's intersection with Harvard Street. A portion of North Passaic Avenue was closed in both directions because of the crash.

Police and fire officials responded to an accident. Police said it was under investigation.
