Burglar Sought After Ransacking Township Home

Police seek information in ongoing investigation.

The Morris County K9 Unit was called in to track down a burglar Thursday night after residents of a River Road home in Chatham Township found their home burgled and ransacked.

Residents of the home returned at about 10 p.m. and heard a noise inside, police said. When they entered the house they said they discovered the master bedroom had been ransacked. The residents also found an unknown amount of jewelry missing from the residence.

Chatham Township police responded to the scene, along with the county's Criminal Investigation Section and the K9 Unit, according to police.
