Borough police reported to the scene of a brush fire Thursday near the New Jersey Transit tracks on South Passaic Avenue.
Train traffic was halted briefly while firefighters extinguished the blaze, according to police. Police said there were other brush fires along the tracks in other towns.
Police also said a bag of marijuana was found in Shepard Kollock park at 9:30 p.m. Thursday. A resident brought the bag to police headquarters.
