Borough Police Investigate Car Burglary, Identity Theft

Police said money and a power drill were reportedly taken from a vehicle on Commerce Street.

Borough police investigated a car theft on Wednesday after money and a power drill were reportedly taken from a vehicle.

Police said they investigated the burglary on Wednesday at about 7:50 p.m. after a victim told them that at some point between Saturday and Wednesday $20 in cash, an unknown value of coins and a power drill were taken from their car. The car was unsecured, according to police, and the robbery was said to have occurred while the car was parked at a Commerce Street business.

Police also said they investigated a case of identity theft from a Lincoln Avenue resident at about 9:20 a.m. on Wednesday. The victim told police that a checking account using some of her personal information was opened in Georgia. The value of the loss is undetermined.
