Borough Cars Stolen, Burglarized Overnight Tuesday
The rash of car thefts in the Chathams continues.
Car thefts in Chatham continued Wednesday with four cars reported stolen overnight in the borough.
Chatham Borough Police said they responded to a Watchung Avenue residence Thursday on a report that two cars were stolen from the driveway overnight.
The resident told police his 2002 Mercedes Benz and his 2001 Audi were taken from his driveway after he secured the vehicles at approximately 11:55 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

Police said Patrolman Andrew Chase responded to Lafayette Avenue on a report that a resident's cars were burglarized.
The resident reported her two cars were parked unlocked in the driveway Tuesday evening, police said.
During the night, police said someone went through the cars and dumped the contents of the glove boxes onto the front seats.
Police said it appears that nothing was taken from the cars.
Residents are reminded to lock their cars at all times to help prevent this type of crime.
