ABC Party Rental Fire

At the same time as the fire at Angie's, police received a report of a fire at at 21 Commerce St., police said.

The New Vernon and Florham Park Fire Departments responded to the scene, along with Patrolman Jaremba, according to police.

The cause of the fire was determined to be a heat lamp on top of an aquarium in the office, police said.

The heat lamp apparently slid out of place and ignited the plastic cover of the aquarium, and the melting plastic, in turn, ignited a stack of magazines on the floor, according to police.

The aquarium glass broke from the heat, and the rush of water apparently extinguished the fire and prevented further damage, police said.
