5 Charged in Chatham Burglary, Jewelry Theft

Chatham Borough Police worked with the Morris County Sheriff's Office to investigate the home burglary.

Chatham Borough Police arrested five people for their roles in a home burglary at a Main Street apartment in which a large quantity of jewelry was stolen.

According to Kevin O'Shea of the Chatham Borough Police Department, a witness reported seeing someone climbing into the window of an apartment at 575 Main St. in the early hours of Sunday morning. A suspect was identified as the victim's next door neighbor, and after further interviews and investigation the following people were arrested and charged:

  • Timothy R. Williamson, 23, of Chatham Borough, charged with burglary, conspiracy and theft. Bail was set at $25,000 and he was lodged at the Morris County Correctional Facility.
  • Blaise T. Wiget, 24, of Succasunna, charged with burglary, conspiracy and theft. Bail was set at $10,000 and he was lodged at the Morris County Correctional Facility.
  • Kelsey L. Stephens, 22, of Landing was charged with burglary, conspiracy and theft. Bail was set at $10,000 and he was lodged at the Morris County Correctional Facility.
  • Kimberly L. Clark, 24, of Wharton was charged with unlicensed entry of a premise and was released on a summons.
  • Jamie L. Falzon, 23, of Randolph was charged with unlicensed entry of a premise and released on a summons.

The jewelry was stolen from a resident of the apartment who was packing to move out. The victim's sister reported the crime. Patrolman Roy George responded to the report of the burglary at 11 a.m. Sunday.

According to O'Shea, the sister told police she worked in the apartment Saturday night and when she returned Sunday, it was obvious to her someone had been in the apartment and items were taken.

O'Shea  said the stolen jewelry was recovered from two separate locations in Boonton with the help of the Boonton Police Department. There was no value for the jewels released.
