Valentine's Day: Tell Us the Best and the Worst

This is one holiday fraught with a lot of expectations. Do you think they're met?

Well, Feb. 14 is officially behind us, but that doesn't mean the pressure is off.

Couples are expected to celebrate Valentine's Day with dinners throughout the weekend, and since it's a long weekend some may even mini-excursions out of town.

But that's the best possible scenario. Many people instead received disappointing gifts: socks, jumper cables, vacuum cleaners, you get the idea.

One woman this reporter knows received stainless steel measuring cups for Valentine's Day one year, which I think could qualify for a Worst Valentine's Day Gift title. Her husband disagrees, though, since she asked for them.

So we put out a query on our Facebook Page asking for the best and worst Valentine's Day gifts you have ever received. Sarah Smith said the best tickets she ever received were tickets to "Phantom of the Opera" on Broadway. The worst, she said, was Sarah Palin's autographed book.

Now we thought we'd ask you: What was the best Valentine's Day gift you've received in your life? What was the worst?

Is Valentine's Day really a holiday celebrating romance, or has it been hyped up to the point where it just disappoints?

Give us your thoughts on gifts, the holiday, and what an appropriate token of affection could or should be on Valentine's Day.

I got nothing... So I bought myself a pair of shoes. That's right, dear. I don't need no stinkin' flowers, these Prada pumps will do just fine.

I bought him a $100 tool set, and that was clearance price. He picked it. That was in January. I also got him a card that I gave him ON vday, and scraped off his car before he had to leave for work at 5am, and he got "pleasantly surprised" before his alarm went off. He got me. . . .Nothing. Not even a card. We piggybacked on my cousins Vday reservations and paid $80 for HORRIBLE Ribeye steak, when we complained they only refunded half our ticket and we didn't even consume more then two small bites of the steak. We both got sick after and then he fell asleep on the couch after we got home. Nedless to say I am NOT happy.

Sorry for the spelling, I am slightly tipsy on account of reading and seeing pics of what my friends have posted about their "Vday fun" and comparing to mine.

Mr. Fogg's wardrobe was amply supplied and in the best taste. He never used the cosy chambers http://www.shopcoachoutletonlinestore.com which the Reform provides for its favoured members. http://www.michaelkorsoutletstoreonlines.com <br/>
