GIRL SCOUTS VOLUNTEER AT THE CHATHAM SENIOR CENTER
Last week, Chatham Girl Scout Troop 1203 helped the Senior Center of the Chathams move furniture in preparation for new carpet installation.
"This group of 8 energetic young ladies had all the furniture moved into the hall in 20 minutes!" said Pam Mansfield, executive director. The furniture consisted of 35 chairs, five computer stations and some bookcases.
The next day new carpeting was installed in a room shared by the Bridge class, Nifty Knitters, a charity knitting group, the brain education class and Reflections, a support group for women going through life transitions. "The carpeting was funded thanks to the generous support of three family foundations," said Mansfield.
Senior Services of the Chathams is a 23-year-old not-for-profit serving the needs of mature adults of the Chatham area. It runs the Senior Enrichment Center, the Senior Transportation Program, support groups for men and women and an information and referral service.
