Former Mayor Endorses Resto, Holman

Richard Plambeck writes in his endorsement in a Letter to the Editor.

To the Editor:

I believe the residents will be well-served by re-electing John Holman and Len Resto to the Chatham Borough Council, and I heartily endorse them.

Both have worked effectively with the Mayor and other members of Council, our staff and volunteers to keep Chatham Borough one of the best small towns in America. As a team, they have kept our municipal taxes among the four or five lowest of all the 39 towns in Morris County.

John chairs the Shared Services Committee that has created effective partnerships with other towns and the County to provide equal or better services at lower costs. The most recent examples being the Joint Court with three other municipalities and the transition of the Emergency Dispatch operations to Morris County.

Len is the Council liaison to most of our Green Team –Environmental Commission, Open Space, Farmer’s Market, Community Garden, Green Fair and Green Initiatives Committees.

All of these have made significant progress and improvements for the town, and we have been recognized by the statewide Sustainable Jersey organization at the Silver Level, one of only 16 towns in the state to be so honored.

For the leadership they have demonstrated and for their significant individual and team efforts for Chatham Borough, I believe John and Len deserve your vote on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

Respectively submitted,

Richard Plambeck
