On Johnny Appleseed Day, Enjoy Apple-Picking

Pick-your-own apple and pumpkin farms are plentiful in New Jersey, but each offers something a bit different. Some have rides; others elaborate corn mazes. Check out our Patch list below for some ideas about where to go and please feel free to add your own favorite spots!

At Alstede you can pick apples, pumpkins, get lost in mazes, and enjoy hayrides daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. There's also all sorts of veggies including tons of Jersey tomatoes on hand to purchase. Afterwards, you can take a stroll through lovely Chester, filled with quaint shops and cafes. For more information, go here.

Apples are $8 per bag and hold about 15 lbs of apples.

Fall Family Fun is open to the general public on Saturdays and Sundays starting the first weekend of October through Oct. 29. Fun-filled weekends, weather permitting, last until the end of October. The Pumpkin Land Festival runs every weekend from Sept. 22 through the end of October. Not only can you take your kids pumpkin picking, but there are also haunted acres hayrides at 7 p.m. starting Oct. 1.
