Chatham Scouts to Collect Turkeys Saturday

Chatham food drive will help Community Foodbank of New Jersey.

The Community Foodbank of New Jersey's annual November turkey drive will have a collection location in Chatham on Saturday.

Volunteers, including Boy Scouts from Troop 8, will be on hand to accept donations from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday at the Chatham United Methodist Church, 460 Main Street.

The FoodBank expects to distribute approximately 32,000 turkeys this holiday season to its 1,100 member agencies, including food pantries, soup kitchens and homeless shelters.

"If you are able to help, please drop off your donation of a frozen turkey and/or nonperishable foods at the the truck which will be parked at the West end of the church, just off the Main Street entrance to the Chatham Middle School," an announcement for the drive says. "Thank you for remembering your neighbors in need! Happy Thanksgiving."
