Deadline for Book Donations Fast Approaching

The Friends of the Library will continue to accept book donations until the end of this month for The Annual Book Sale in March.  Gently used Books, CD’s, & DVD’s can be left in the Library Park Entrance Hall.  With only 2 days left, take advantage of this opportunity to clear out those book shelves and make room for some new titles you can purchase at the Sale in March.  The Friends cannot accept textbooks, condensed books, magazines, VHS tapes, soiled or damaged items.

The Book Sale begins on Saturday, March 10th and continues through Tuesday, March 13th.

For residents of the Chathams only who are members of the Friends, you will receive an exclusive invitation to the Friends Preview Book Sale on Friday, March 9th; peruse over 40,000 presorted books before the Sale is open to the public.  Also, you will receive our monthly newsletter Bookends, as well as email notifications of Library Programs and Events.

Not a member of the Friends?  It’s not too late!  You can renew or become a new member of the Friends today.  Any amount, large or small, help the Friends continue efforts to support programs and finance aspects of what is not covered in the Library budget.  Brochures were mailed out in late January and additional brochures are available at the Library of The Chathams, located at 214 Main Street.  For questions about membership with The Friends of the Library or how to volunteer, please call the Library at 973-635-0603.

The Friends of The Library is a 501(c)3 non profit organization run by volunteers.  Anyone who is an advocate of The Library of the Chathams can join The Friends.  After expenses, 100% of the money raised goes back into the Library.  Friends finance aspects of what is not covered in the Library budget.  The Annual Book Sale and Membership Drive are our biggest fund raisers of the year; please support your Library of the Chathams.
