Ninth Annual Police Expo at Rockaway Townsquare

ROCKAWAY, NJ, MAY 4, 2011 – Rockaway Townsquare has teamed up with the Morris County Park Police and the Rockaway Township Police Department to present the Ninth Annual Police Expo on Saturday, May 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.      

During the mall-wide event, members of the community will have an opportunity to view live demonstrations that introduce a variety of police equipment and different types of vehicles used by law enforcement officers, including patrol cars, motorcycles, trucks, ATVs, horses and military exhibits and more.

The expo will also feature several safety programs such as D.A.R.E education, how to protect oneself while using the Internet, tips to prevent crime and car seat safety.  Other highlights will include tours of the Rockaway Township Police Department substation, Saint Barnabas Fire Safety House and a special appearance by Batman and his Bat Mobile.

In addition, the Morris County Park Police Child I.D. Unit, a child identification department, will offer its services free to all families that attend.  With the support of Chief William Huyler, and under the direction of Captain Gloria Sullivan, parents will have the opportunity to get their children fingerprinted as well as obtain photos of their youngsters for identification purposes. 

Participants can also try on a variety of police equipment throughout the event and listen to the sounds of the Police Pipe & Drums of Morris County.
