Help Raise Money to Cure Breast Cancer

Residents of the area are getting set to participate in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in New York on October 15 and 16, where they will walk 39 miles over the course of the weekend.

Each participant must raise a minimum of $1800 for the charity and in order to help with the fundraising, the participants are hosting a fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 10 at the Shillelagh Club on Prospect Avenue in West Orange. The fundraiser is called "The Boob-E-Que" and will start at 4 pm.

Because breast cancer is so widely spread, they are hoping to make this an annual community event and would like to gain the support of the surrounding communities as well to be able to donate as much money as possible to the Avon Foundation.

The impact of the Avon Foundation in our area is enormous. All of the proceeds from the walk stay in the local area, so the communities are supporting their own people.
