Community Shredding Fundraiser

Senior Services of the Chathams announces a Shred-It fundraiser to be held on Saturday, Oct. 15th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot of the Chatham United Methodist Church,  460 Main St.

“This is the perfect solution to get rid of personal documents in a confidential way,” says Micki Chaput, Executive Director.  The public is invited to participate, and the cost is $5 per standard box or brown paper grocery bag.  Newspapers, magazines and paperback books will be accepted, too.  Money raised from the event will be used to fund wellness programs at the Senior Center.

Senior Services of the Chathams began as an outreach project of Interfaith Council of Churches and was quickly spun off into an independent 501 c 3 organization.  The twenty-one-year-old agency runs a transportation service for those that don’t drive, support groups and an information and referral service for a variety of geriatric issues including home health care needs, changes in Medicare, when to stop driving, assisted living, and government services.
