The Long Hill Township Library is pleased to present Ovid’s “Metamorphoses”   performed by The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey’s Next Stage Ensemble on Saturday, August 3 at Noon.  The library is located at 917 Valley Road, Gillette, NJ.

In Ovid’s “Metamorphoses,” the myths of Ancient Greece come vividly to life with a collection of tales of gods and mortals, romance and revenge, hope and rebirth. From the origin of Echo to the ill-fated choices of Midas, audiences will revel in famous and lesser-known tales that have shaped a culture.

How did the world begin? Why does a voice echo back to you when you shout in a canyon? Why do you see your reflection in still water? Does someone control your destiny? These and other essential questions of humanity have been the inspiration of legends and myths for centuries.

In residence on the campus of Drew University in Madison, The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey is one of the 22 professional theatres in the state. One of the leading Shakespeare theatres in the nation—serving 100,000 adults and children annually—it is New Jersey's only professional theatre company dedicated to Shakespeare's canon and other classic masterworks.
