Fall Talk & Tea at Cross Estate: The Gardens of Beatrix Potter
An entertaining exploration of Potter’s gardening life: her botanical art, the plants and gardens in her “little books,” and her own gardens in England’s Lake District by Marta McDowell of Chatham, NJ. She teaches landscape history and gardening at the New York Botanical Garden, and Drew. Her new book, Beatrix Potter’s Gardening Life, is just out after the success of her book 'Emily Dickinson’s Gardens' in '05.
Janet Di Mauro, also avid gardener and cook will again organize a wonderful tea served in the dining room. Sweet and savory hors d'oeuvres, finger sandwiches, desserts, and tea will be served by other volunteers of NJ Historical Garden Foundation.
Admission is $25 for NJHGF members and $30 for non-members.
