What's Open in Chatham Monday?

Schools are open, thanks to the late October snowstorm.

Monday, Jan. 2 is celebrated as a state and federal holiday for New Year's Day, but in the Chathams, parents still have to wake up their kids and send them off to school.

The designated Jan. 2 as a make-up day after schools were closed for five days during a snow storm in late October. At , students will be on a Day 4 schedule.

  • The Library of the Chathams will be closed and will re-open Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m.
  • State and local government offices and courts will be closed, including the and the .
  • Post offices will be closed; there will be no regular mail delivery.
  • Banks have the option to close.
  • Financial and stock markets will be closed Monday.
  • NJ Transit trains will run on an enhanced weekend schedule, with extra “peak period” service on select lines.
  • Bus schedules will vary by route and some routes may be affected.
  • PATH trains will operate on a Saturday schedule.
