Soldiers From Chatham to Be Honored During Memorial Day Event
Library of the Chathams to dedicate plaques at Memorial Park.
Chatham will be celebrating Memorial Day this year with a special ceremony at the Memorial Park.
The event will kick off at 8 a.m. on May 27.
During the event, plaques (pictured above) donated by the Chatham Historical Society will be dedicated and installed at Memorial Park in honor of fallen soldiers from Chatham. On the plaques are the names of the 11 Chatham soldiers who died during the Civil War, including Thomas Phipps who died on January 31, 1863.
