Softball Team to Play for Morris County Championship

Chathamites can cheer on the Lady Cougars Thursday at the Morris County Tournament championship game against Pequannock. Want to know more? Check out the Five Things You Need to Know Today:

  1. You need to know about giving blood: The Key Club at Chatham High School is holding a blood drive in the C Gym between 7:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
  2. You need to know about high school sports: The boys golf team takes on Delbarton and boys tennis takes on Morristown at 4 p.m. Thursday; boys lacrosse takes on West Essex at 4:30 p.m.; and girls softball plays in the Morris County Tournament against Pequannock at 6 p.m.
  3. You need to know about Ladies Night Out: Borough stores and restaurants will stay open late tonight for Ladies Shopping Night.
  4. You need to know about what’s going up in the township: The Chatham Township Committee meets Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the Chatham Township Municipal Building.
  5. You need to know about Edward Lear: Lear was an English writer and artist who had a healthy enjoyment of the nonsensical, the ridiculous and the all-around silly. He invented a new style of poetry called limericks,, which are celebrated on May 12, the anniversary of Lear’s birth, also known as Limerick Day.
