Outages Drop as JCP&L Adds More Manpower
An additional 1,200 line workers joined the nearly 7,000 JCP&L workers already on the ground in New Jersey on Friday after winter storm Athena caused JCP&L's power outage numbers to increase by more than 100,000 from Wednesday evening to Thursday morning.
UPDATED: Nearly 60% of Township Still in the Dark
Despite police-issued alert indicating most power had been restored Saturday night, nearly 3,000 township customers remain out, JCP&L map shows.

Car Accident Blocks Traffic on Watchung Ave.
A multi-vehicle car accident has blocked westbound traffic on Watchung Avenue beginning at Hillside Avenue. Chatham Borough Police were on the scene diverting traffic from Watchung Avenue north on Hillside Avenue.

The Chatham Borough Council agreed to consider a second brush pick-up through borough streets, but only after leaf pick-up finished and if the Department of Public Works was not overwhelmed with snow removal.
Township Adds Warming Shelter as Outages Persist
Previous estimates from JCP&L of power restoration in Chatham Township were inaccurate, according to a statement from Township Mayor Nicole Hagner, and as many as 2,680 homes in Chatham Township remain without power as of 10:30 p.m. Sunday.
