Rain, Recycling and Columnists

And other essential information for Tuesday, June 28, 2011.

Chathamites can expect summer showers on Tuesday, with a 30 percent chance of rain during the day and a 60 percent chance going into the evening. So if you are looking for a way to occupy a rainy day, check out the Five Things You Need to Know Today:

  1. You need to know about sign language: Children 6 and under can learn American Sign Language at the Library of the Chathams at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
  2. You need to know about recycling: Chatham Township residents can take their recycling to the Tanglewood Recycling Center Tuesday between 8:30 and 11:30 a.m.
  3. You need to know about traffic safety: The Traffic Safety Committee meets Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Chatham Borough Municipal Building.
  4. You need to know about library trustees: The Board of Trustees for the Library of the Chathams meets Tuesday (instead of their usual meeting date of the last Wednesday) at 7:30 p.m. at the library.
  5. You need to know about columnists: Like any publication, Chatham Patch would be sorely lacking without our trusty columnists. So today, on National Columnists Day, we extend a thank you to them for all that they do.

For other information worth knowing, see the Chatham Patch events calendar and announcements section—and if you've got something the community should know, don't forget to make a post of your own in one or both of those site sections.
