Power Outages Reported in Morris County

Chatham residents say power is out on Hillside, Hedges Avenues.

JCP&L reported under 500 Long Valley residents without power as of 3:08 p.m. Monday, but at least two Chatham residents report power outages as well.

JudyAnn Hargrove of Hillside Avenue said JCP&L told her power should be restored by 4 p.m., but gave no indication as to why the power was out. Kristina Pasko of Hedges Avenue also said her power was out.

John Anderson of JCP&L said a tree branch had fallen and blew a fuse box, affecting 130 customers along Hedges Avenue, Hillside Avenue, Summit Avenue, Main Street and Yale Street. According to Anderson, power was restored at approximately 1:45 p.m.

The utility company does not know of outages unless customers report them. Anyone experiencing service interruptions can report it to JCP&L by calling 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877).
