Think you missed anything in Chatham this week?

In the last week before school began, Chatham residents had a lot going on to keep themselves busy. High school sports teams had practices and scrimmages, smoke alarms went off in a retirement home and Zach Subar, who launched the Chatham Patch on Dec. 28, officially stepped down as editor. If you missed any of these or other stories in Chatham this week, check out the Week In Review to catch up.

On Monday, we told you about three varsity teams from Chatham High School as they prepare for the season ahead. The volleyball team hopes to make it to the state semi-finals again this year. The womens soccer team likewise foresees another trip to the state sectional finals in the coming season. Coach Morgenroth of the football team described his team's performance in a weekend scrimmage against Summit as "average." We also brought you a photo gallery of last Saturday's Farmers Market, which featured a face-painting fundraiser for the Public Arts Council.

Tuesday we told you about mens soccer coach Gene Foca, who expects his players to step up their game in the coming season. We also told you about a smoke alarm that evacuated Juniper Village, caused by a malfunctioned air conditioning unit. We also told you about the removal of an elm tree in front of 246 Main St. We also brought you Part One of Get to Know Your Chatham Editor, with a Q&A of Zach Subar and Laura Silvius.

On Wednesday we brought you a preview of the womens cross country team, which has a lot of work ahead after losing two of their top three athletes. We brought you photos of construction beginning on the sidewalk on Elmwood Avenue near Milton Elementary School. We also brought you Part Two of Get to Know Your Chatham Editor, where Laura asked Zach the questions as he prepared to leave Chatham for Mount Airy in Philadelphia.

Thursday we told you about the mens cross country team, which hopes to win their division again in 2010 as they did last year. We also told you about the borough's efforts to earn Sustainable Jersey bronze level accreditation and brought you the latest news about Hurricane Earl.

On Friday we told you about New Jersey Transit's "early getaway" rail and bus service for Labor Day weekend.
