Memorial Day Celebrations Happening Near You

The National Weather Service predicts a 30 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms on the morning of Memorial Day, but Chathamites are so hardy that they will not let this deter them from their celebrations! To find out where you need to be and when, check out the Five Things You Need to Know Today:

  1. You need to know about Memorial Day in the Borough: The Chatham Borough Memorial Day Celebration will take place in next to the Library of the Chathams at 8 a.m.
  2. You need to know about Memorial Day in the Township: The Memorial Day Service in Green Village begins at 8:30 a.m. at the .
  3. You need to know about trash: There is no trash pick-up Monday because of the holiday.
  4. You need to know about pools: and the Chatham Borough Municipal Pool will be open Monday.
  5. You need to know about the telegraph: On May 30, 1872, Mahlom Loomis was granted a patent for the wireless telegraph that he invented while working as a dentist.
