UPDATE: Outage Repaired in Chatham Township

Anyone still without power is asked to contact JCP&L

said a power outage Tuesday morning has been fixed, and customers should now have their power restored.

Police sent out a Nixle alert at 10:39 a.m. stating work crews had repaired the cause of the outage, which affected the "Southern Boulevard and River Road corridor."

A Nixle alert released at 10:08 a.m. Tuesday said police have notified JCP&L of the outages and "there is no time estimate on restoration." The alert said crews were on their way.

At 10:11 a.m., an outage map at the JCP&L website showed between 2,001 and 5,000 JCP&L customers without power in Chatham, but did not have a specific number.

Police ask that any JCP&L customers experiencing an outage contact JCP&L at 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877). The utility company is not aware of outages unless customers notify them.
