Happy 3rd Birthday, Chatham Patch

Your hyperlocal online newspaper enters its fourth year.

Chathamites, greetings!

Once again I write to you on the anniversary of the launch of Chatham Patch.

when Chatham Patch first launched, Local Editor Zach Subar was your man about town. He covered a retiring police chief, a rabid fox and a snowstorm, all in a short period of time.

In 2010 I told you a little about my first few weeks on the job as the editor of Chatham Patch. In 2011 I recapped the year previous, and offered my thanks for everything you do to help me do my job. And once again, here I am, humbled by the tremendous support you have shown me in 2012.

Because the secret to Chatham Patch is you. You provide news tips, blogs, story ideas, photos and countless other invaluable information each and every day.

I am still on vacation in beautiful southern California, but I'll be back soon to cover the reorganization meetings, recap the biggest stories of 2012 and get swinging on 2013. But until I return, I wish you and your loved ones a very Happy New Year.
