Hanging Out is Fun

And cheap, too!

Thunderstorms and rain are expected in the Chathams Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service, which makes today's weird holiday oddly inappropriate. To find out more, check out the Five Things You Need to Know Today:

  1. You need to know about recycling: The Tanglewood Recycling Center is open for township residents to bring in their recycling and compost from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
  2. You need to know how to play bridge: And you can learn by attending lessons at the Senior Center of the Chathams Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  3. You need to know about magic: The Library of the Chathams is hosting a magic show at 4 p.m. today. It is open to all ages and no registration is required.
  4. You need to know about history: The Chatham Borough Historic Preservation Commission meets Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Chatham Borough Municipal Building.
  5. You need to know about hanging out: April 19 is National Hanging Out Day, and it isn’t exactly what you think. It is a day to use a clothesline and hang your clothes out to dry, rather than using the dryer. Clothes that dried on lines tend to last longer than clothes dried in the drier, and it’s also environmentally friendly and can save you money.
