Freezing Alert Issued in the Chathams

The National Weather Service warns temperatures could kill crops and vegetation.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a freeze warning for the area, effective through 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Temperatures could fall to about 30 degrees, according to the NWS, and frost is also possible.

"These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation," according to a statement released by the NWS, including outdoor plants.
