The Friends of the Library has had an outstanding response to their annual book sale, and is offering free books from the sale through Sunday. For more details, check out the Five Things You Need to Know Today:

  1. You need to know about free books at the library: The Friends of the Library are now offering free books from the book sale! Just go to the basement during business hours.
  2. You need to know about borough planning: The Planning Board meets tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the .

  5. You need to know about Freedom of Information Day: You know how every  government meeting has an adequate notice proclamation or a ? That’s because of the Freedom of Information legislation at the federal, state, county, municipal and school level. The Freedom of Information Act was signed into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson on July 4, 1966 and the Elctronic Freedom of Information Act was signed by President Bill Clinton on Oct. 2, 1996. So here’s a question: Why is it celebrated on March 16? Whoever can answer that wins a Patch prize!
