Floods, Sports and the Salvation Army

And other essential information to get you through your Thursday.

Where can you find out where to learn about spring sports at the high school, the upcoming budget, and today's unusual holiday? In the Five Things You Need to Know Today column, of course!

For other information worth knowing, see the Chatham Patch events calendar and announcements section — and if you've got something the community should know, don't forget to make a post of your own in one or both of those site sections.

  1. You need to know about the weather: The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for areas near bodies of water today since over 2 inches of rain are expected.
  2. You need to know about the Chatham Middle School PTO Meeting: It begins at 9 a.m. at Chatham Middle School. Superintendent Jim O'Neill will be present to answer any questions parents may have about the upcoming school budget.

  4. You need to know about the Chatham Township Committee: It meets tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Chatham Township Municipal Building.
  5. You need to know about Salvation Army Day: Today in 1880, the Salvation Army set up shop in the United States for the first time. Why not take some time today to go over donate your gently-used household items that you no longer need to those less fortunate?
