First Look at Fishawack

And everything else you need to know on Monday, March 28.

It's another chilly Monday in the Chathams, with temperatures between 23 and 43 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. But Chathamites stay busy no matter what the weather, and here is a look at the Five Things You Need to Know Today, March 28:

  1. You need to know about the Board of Education: The board meets tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Chatham Township Municipal Building. Among items on the agenda are the opportunity for public comment on the proposed school budget, and a motion to approve the budget for the April 27 election. Also two Chatham High teachers, Pat LaMorte and Melissa Bryan, are resigning and Howard Glatt is retiring.
  2. You need to know about Fishawack: Chris Tomaino will report on preparations for the Fishawack  Festival at the Chatham Borough meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Chatham Borough Municipal Building.
  3. You need to know about open space: The Chatham Township Open Space Committee meets tonight at 7 p.m. at the Chatham Township Municipal Building.
  4. You need to know about Irish stepdancing: Timothy Kochka teaches at Dance Innovations & Performing Arts Studio every Monday at 3:30 p.m.
  5. You need to know about the Knights of Columbus: The Knights of Columbus were founded through an assistant pastor, the Rev. Michael J. McGivney, of St. Mary’s Church in New Haven, Conn. on March 29, 1882. Chapters all over the world, including in Chatham, still continue the order’s mission of charity, unity and fraternity. Currently the Knights are collecting funds to use in Japan, which has four active councils with just under 400 Knights.
