Fine Game and Fine Wine

All the essential information you need to get you through your Wednesday.

If you feel the need to add some elegance to your Wednesday, Restaurant Serenade offers a special event tonight that is sure to make it feel more like Saturday. For more details, check out the Five Things You Need to Know Today:

  1. You need to know about dinner theater: Restaurant Serenade will offer "The Best Game in Town Dinner," hosted by Ariane Daguin, a "famed purveyor of game." Some of the items on the menu are partridge roulade with foie gras and truffles, wild boar cassoulet and juniper-crusted venison, paired with wines by the restaurant's sommelier.
  2. You need to know about organization: The will – finally! – have their first meeting of the year, where they will reorganize the board and hold elections for officers. The January meeting was canceled due to weather.
  3. You need to know about recycling: Waste Management will collect recycling from all borough residents today.
  4. You need to know about fencing: The fencing team will hold their end-of-the-season dinner tonight at 6:30 p.m. at Chatham High.
  5. You need to know about World War II: Feb. 23 is celebrated as Iwo Jima Day, commemorating the battle over the Japanese island during World War II. Technically the battle of Iwo Jima was fought from Feb. 19 until March 26, 1945, but the iconic raising of the American Flag atop Mount Suribachi on the island occurred on Feb. 23.
