Earth Day, Closings and Jelly Beans

And other essential Information for Friday, April 22

Chatham students can sleep in today, since schools are closed to honor Good Friday. To find out what else is closed, check out the Five Things You Need to Know Today:

  1. You need to know about what’s closed: The Municipal Buildings in the borough and township are closed today, the Library of the Chathams is closed and schools are closed for Good Friday.
  2. You need to know what’s open: The Post Office is open and banks are open today.
  3. You need to know about weather: The National Weather Service continues to predict rain for the Chathams, but the weather itself hasn’t seemed to notice.
  4. You need to know about Earth Day: April 22 is a day known around the country to conservationalists as a day to raise awareness about environmental issues and ways to go green.
  5. You need to know about jelly beans: April 22 is also National Jelly Bean Day, at least according to the National Confectioners Association.

For other information worth knowing, see the Chatham Patch events calendar and announcements section—and if you've got something the community should know, don't forget to make a post of your own in one or both of those site sections.
