JCP&L Crews Hit Green Village, Hillside, Rolling Hills Neighborhods

Foreman 'optimistic' all of Chatham back up by Friday night.

Chatham residents gathered on their lawns and in the streets as JCP&L crews came to work on neighborhood power lines.

They waved over crew members from the side of the road. They stopped their bicycles. They came out of their homes to ask, is today the day they'll get their power back?

Over 5 crews were deployed into Chatham Friday in an effort to get the town back online. The foreman, a lineman out of JCP&L's Summit center, sent them to different corners of the towns, careful not to put them too close together.

"You don't want them working on top of each other, in case they energize each other," said Rob Kennedy. "It's all about putting safety first. If one guy gets hurt, I haven't done my job."

River Road, Hillsde Drive, Fairmount Avenue, Britten Road and Dale Drive all had crews at work. Dale Drive is energized up to Roberts as of Friday morning, as is River Road up to Fairmount Avenue. Chestnut Drive, Candace Lane and Johnson Drive also have power.
