Concerts, Recycling and Hypertension

And other essential information for Tuesday, May 17.

Rain is predicted all week long in Chatham, and Tuesday will be no exception, according to the National Weather Service. A concert at Chatham High School is one way to escape the weather. For more information, check out the Five Things You Need to Know Today:

  1. You need to know about biology: Biology students at have their end-of-course exams Tuesday beginning at 7:40 a.m.
  2. You need to know about recycling: The Tanglewood recycling center is open Tuesday between 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
  3. You need to know about history: The Historic Preservation Commission meets at the at 7:30 p.m.
  4. You need to know about music: The Choral Concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at Chatham High School in the auditorium.
  5. You need to know about hypertension: May 17 is World Hypertension Day, a day that brings attention to the condition of having chronically high blood pressure. Many things can affect blood pressure, from sodium to stress. Free blood pressure screenings are offered on the first Thursday of every month at the Library of the Chathams from 10 a.m. to noon.
