Chatham Hockey Goes to State Finals

Get a good night's sleep as daylight savings time begins (and clocks move forward) the day of the big game!

Welcome to the Cougar Sports Corner, where we bring you all the news from Chatham High athletics.

The Chatham High Booster Club is sponsoring two fan buses for high school students to attend the hockey game Sunday! Just contact the Booster Club for more information.

Chatham fans are invited to a pre-game rally Sunday before the ice hockey team plays in the state tournament. Meet at the Brick City Grill at 35 Edison Pl., Newark, upstairs in the "Chatham Room" at 11:15 a.m.

Brick City Grill is located on the right side of the front of the Prudential Center at Edison and Broad Streets.

At 1 p.m. Sunday, the boys of the varsity ice hockey team will play against Middletown South in the NJSIAA Tournament at 1 p.m.

On Saturday, the following scrimmages will take place:

At 10 a.m. the boys varsity baseball team will face Summit High School in an away scrimmage. Transport leaves at 9 a.m.

At 11:30 a.m. the freshmen boys lacrosse team will face Bridgewater-Raritan High School in a scrimmage at Cougar Field.

At 1 p.m. the boys JV lacrosse team will play against Bridgewater-Raritan High School in a home scrimmage at Cougar Field.

At 2:30 p.m. the boys varsity lacrosse team will play in a scrimmage against Bridgewater-Raritan High School at Cougar Field.

At 2:30 p.m. the girls varsity lacrosse team will play against Glen Rock High School in a scrimmage at Haas Field.

At 4 p.m. the girls JV lacrosse team will play in a scrimmage against Glen Rock High School at Haas Field.

On Sunday:

There is absolutely nothing happening ... only the biggest hockey game of the season!

Chatham faces Middletown south in a home game at the Prudential Center in Newark.

The Cougars will wear white jerseys. Chatham Spectators will sit in sections 3 through 7, with students in section 6.

The New Jersey Devils and the NJSIAA remind you that it is Prudential Center policy not to permit banners, posters, flags, silly string, balloons or laser pointers. Tape recorers, video tape machines, backpacks and briefcases will also not be permitted.

Daylight Savings Time begins Sunday, meaning all clocks will move ahead by one hour. So make sure you adjust your clocks Saturday and don't sleep through the big game!
