St. Patrick School Announces New Principal

The selection committee, headed by Fr. Bob Mitchell, is pleased to name Mary M. Donohue as the new Principal for St. Patrick School. Ms. Donohue brings a strong commitment to Catholic education as well as a philosophy which seeks to cultivate a love of learning in each child.

“To be successful in school and beyond, students need to love learning. Knowing this to be true, educators shoulder a tremendous responsibility in taking steps to cultivate a love of learning among those they teach” says Ms. Donohue. Drawing on her extensive teaching experience Ms. Donohue will lead a school dedicated to academics as well as the spiritual development of each child. “In a Catholic school, academic achievement is one part of the equation. Teaching children to be moral people of faith, integrity and compassion is an integral part of the educational process as well.”

Fr. Bob, in an open letter to the parish, called Ms. Donohue an “...intelligent, kind and compassionate person who takes on this huge responsibility aware that leadership in a Catholic School must foster a level of education that instills values, academics, respect, and love into the hearts of students, as well as open communication and support to parents, faculty and school administration.” He goes on to say, “as pastor of St. Patrick Church, I have great confidence in Mary, and believe she will be a competent, caring leader in our school.”
