'Cake Boss' Bakery Coming to Metropolitan at 40 Park in Morristown

East Hanover resident said Morris County location is a 'perfect fit' for his sixth bakery.

Carlo’s Bakery, the setting of the hit TLC series "Cake Boss," is opening a sixth location in Morristown.

The business has three active satellite shops: its flagship bakery in Hoboken, one in Ridgewood and a third just open in Westfield. A fourth location is now being built in Red Bank and one is planned for Greenwich, Conn.

The Cake Boss himself, Buddy Valastro, an East Hanover resident, said Morristown should be an ideal spot for his growing enterprise.

"Morristown really is a family town," Valastro said. "It represents everything we are about at the bakery. I’ve been to Morristown many times and have always thought it would be a perfect place for Carlo’s.”

Carlo's Bakery Morristown, as it will be formally known, will feature a party room to house celebrations ranging from birthdays to bridal showers.

"With how family-oriented this town is, I knew I wanted to include a party room at this location,” Valastro said.

The bakery will be at 40 Market St. on the ground floor of the Metropolitan at 40 Park in a 3,700-square-foot space. Carlo's Bakery Morristown is expected to open later this year.

"Attracting a high-profile retail establishment of this caliber is a testament to what has been created in downtown Morristown and further validates the substantial investment the Roseland/Woodmont Properties partnership has made in helping to fortify the area’s appeal as a dynamic downtown environment,” said Debra Tantleff, a vice president of development for Mack-Cali's Roseland, which developed the 40 Park mixed-use development with Woodmont.

"Carlo’s Bakery and Morristown are similar in nature in that the bakery is a regional brand with national recognition that remains committed to its ‘mom and pop’ character and personal service," she said, "and Morristown offers a vibrant setting where culture, dining, shopping and nightlife coexist with a small-town, local feel.

"It’s a perfect fit.”
