Angie's Celebrates 20 Years in Chatham

Owners Jimmy and Louise Poulimenos have a landmark anniversary Thursday.

Twenty years ago, Louise and Jimmy Poulimenos opened the doors to their diner, Angie's Luncheonette, in a Main Street shop front.

Over the years they have survived recessions, downtown renovations, hurricanes, a fire that closed the restaurant for a month in 2012 and served an entire generation of Chatham residents.

"It's a very special day for us," Louise said.

The diner will hold their regular hours Thursday, and they hope to see their friends, their family and as many residents as will fit inside the diner.

"This restaurant is my second home," Jimmy said.
