Win Tickets to Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's John McEuen

The Sanctuary Concert Series and Chatham Patch team up to give residents the chance to win.

The presents John McEuen, the founding member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, at the Saturday at 8 p.m.

McEuen formed the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band with a friend who worked with him in a magic store in California. Forty-five years later, McEuen continues to add to his performing experience, with over 8,500 live concerts and 300 television shows both with the band and as a solo performer.

This Grammy nominee has recorded over 40 albums, including six solo albums, and has earned four platinum awards, five gold recognition awards, CMA and AMC awards, an Emmy nomination and an IBMA Record of the Year award. His radio show "Acoustic Traveller" on Sirius/XM's The Village is now in its fifth year.

Though McEuen will be performing solo, he will perform songs by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band on his guitar, banjo, fiddle and mandolin.

The bill also included Beppe Gambetta, a native of Genoa, Italy who recently relocated to New Jersey. Gambetta's skill on the guitar have earned him the title of "the Italian King of the flatpick guitar" from The Daily Times. The Washington Post said his playing sounds like "a duet between Doc Watson and Leo Kottke."

Scott Sheldon, the head of the Sanctuary Concert Series, said McEuen and Gambetta "together [...] will provide an evening of high spirits, hot picking and lush facial hair."

Tickets for the concert are available for $25 on the Sanctuary Concert Series website. Admission includes desserts and coffee at intermission.
