Stanley Congregational Church “With a Song in My Heart”

On Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 5:00 pm Stanley Congregational Church, United Church of Christ located at 94 Fairmount Avenue, Chatham will present a benefit concert entitled:  "With a Song in My Heart".  The program will feature some of the regular guest singers who sing with the church's music program, many of whom also sing musical theater.  The performers include:  Karen Cantor, soprano, Jeffrey Dopson, tenor, Kevin Gardner, baritone, Tracey Lynn Haskell, soprano, John Lamb, bass, James Ludlum, tenor, D'Angelique Dopson, soprano and Alice Regan Moynahan, soprano.  All of these artists have appeared as leads in local theater productions, and some have professional credits, as well.

The songs will range from Operetta through musical theater: soaring ballads through comic patter, and several novelty numbers.  They will be accompanied by the church’s Music Director of the past 36 years, Clifford Parrish.  In addition to his work in classical choral music, Mr. Parrish has extensive theater experience, both as a Director and a Musical Director.  He has been awarded the New Jersey Association of Community Theater awards for his musical direction.  He most recently directed "Little Women" at the Barn Theater in Montville, "Urinetown" at the Black River Playhouse for the Chester Theater Group, where he was also Music Director for last summer's production of "Grey Gardens".
