Broadway Closer than Chathamites May Think

Tickets available for "Sister Act" and "The Addams Family."

The lights of Broadway are closer to Chatham than they seem.

Chatham Recreation offers residents the chance to see one of two Broadway shows on Nov. 17.

A registration fee of $95 includes an orchestra seat for an evening performance of either "Sister Act" or "The Addams Family," and transportation by bus to and from Midtown Manhattan. There are 25 tickets available for each show,

Registration is available through Community Pass Buses depart and arrive at the parking lot at . Students under 18 must travel with an adult.

If you cannot wait until Nov. 17, the off-Broadway theater Keen Company brings "Broadway in the Boro" to the on Nov. 7 at 7 p.m.

This is the sixth time Chatham High alumnus and Carl Forsman will host the hour-long benefit. The cast includes Kelli O'Hara, Kate Baldwin, Brian d'Arcy James and Matt Servitto. Chris Furlong, a board member for the Chatham Community Players, will also appear.

Tickets for "Broadway in the Boro" are available for $50, or $25 for students under 18. They are for sale until Oct. 22 online or by phone through Ticketmaster, or at the door. Admission includes a wine-&-cheese reception after the performance. Furlong said the cast members of the show often make extended appearances at the reception, to meet and take pictures with the audience.
