You Could Land Six Parts in Chatham Players Show

Open auditions planned for holiday production 'Christmas Cards.'

The Chatham Community Players are holding open auditions this month for a holiday production that calls for each cast member to play up to six different characters.

Auditions for "Christmas Cards" are scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, and Tuesday, Oct. 15, at The Chatham Playhouse, 23 North Passaic Ave.

The production by G. David Post is  “a collection of original holiday sketches for the whole family, meant to warm your heart and get you in the holiday spirit," Producer Leslie Reagoso said.

Versatility could be key to a successful audition, as each performer will portray at least three characters in the show.

Director John A.C. Kennedy is looking for six to 10 versatile male and female actors who can play a wide range of characters, according to an audition announcement.

"The diverse roles range from mothers to children, elves to animals, silly to serious," the announcement says. "We will be casting men and women from 20 to 80 and one boy around the age of 12. Singing ability is a plus."

Auditions start with cold readings. For more information visit http://www.chathamplayers.org/auditions.html.

Performances of "Christmas Cards" are 8 p.m. Dec. 12, 13 and 14, and 3 p.m. Dec. 14 and 15.

The Chatham Players have an open call casting policy. Everyone is encouraged to audition. For more information call Leslie Reagoso at 973-769-3886 or email her at ccpcasting@gmail.com, or visit www.chathamplayers.org
