You don't need to go into New York City to find great concerts.
The Sanctuary Concert Series brings headlining musicians to the intimate venue of the Presbyterian Church of Chatham Township on Southern Boulevard. On March 26, the Sanctuary Concert Series presents Paul Barrere and Fred Tackett, an acoustic duo that has performed to rave reviews, independently, in other bands and together, for over 35 years.
Barrere and Tackett played together on the Little Feat album "Dixie Chicken" (1973) and subsequently became full members of the band. When not working with Little Feat, they perform together as an acoustic duo and will soon bring their talents and charm to Chatham.
Besides their work with Little Feat and as a musical partnership, the two have also worked, together and independently, with artists such as Taj Mahal, the Allman Brothers, Bonnie Raitt, Carly Simon, Bob Dylan, Tom Waits and The Wallflowers.
The two friends have made live albums from previous concerts together, one in 2001 called "Live from North Cafe" and one in 2009 called "Live in the UK 2008."
Admission to the concert is $25 each, and seating is as available upon arrival in the church's pews underneath stained glass windows. Refreshments are offered during the intermission.
