The Lucky & Resourceful to Laugh This Weekend

Sold-out comedy show highlights some great events.

A performance by Brian Regan highlights what is happening this weekend in the area. However, it will take some doing to get to the show, as it is sold out. We have plenty of other options, though, including a family-friendly section at the bottom.

Where/When:
Morristown Community Theatre; Sunday, 7 p.m.
Why Go: This comedian is so popular, the show is already sold out! But, if you really want to see him in Morris County, maybe you can find someone you know who has an extra ticket? If you're one of the lucky ones to already have tickets, this promises to be a night full of laughs.

Huge Annual Garage Sale
Where/When:
; Saturday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Why Go: The Madison Cooperative Nursery School is having its annual garage and bake sale, allowing you the chance to find treasures that have been gathering for over a year.

The Hot Club of Cowtown & Frank Vignola Tio
Where/When: ; Saturday, 8 p.m.
Why Go: It's a night of hot jazz AND western swing with these two acts. Who doesn't like a two-for-the-price-of-one show?

Where/When: , Butler; Friday, 8-10 p.m.
Why Go: Because all ages are welcome, and The Music Den has its own PA system, drums, piano, and electric drum kit for musicians to use.

The Taming of the Shrew
Where/When: Brundage Park Playhouse, Randolph; Friday and Saturday, 8 p.m.; Sunday, 2 p.m.
Why Go: The Shakespeare Initiative at Brundage Park Playhouse will present its take on this classic.

Grab and Go–Great things for the Family

Storytime for 2- to 6- Year Olds
Where/When:  ; Saturday, 10 a.m.
Why Go: Because, if you want your child to be interested in reading, taking them to story time is a good start.
Pricing: Free

Pysanky Workshop
Where/When: , Madison; Saturday and Sunday, 2-5 p.m.
Why Go: Because, during the Saturday workshop, children between ages 8 and 12 can learn Ukrainian egg decorating, and on Sunday ages 13 and older can do the same.
Pricing: $15 for members and $20 for non-members, includes supplies. Pre-registration is required by calling 973-377-2982, extension 14.


Where/When: , Chatham; Saturday 10-11 a.m.
Why Go: Because children ages 2 through 6, with an adult, can walk the trails and learn about animals and plants.
Pricing: $2 per person, pre-registration required at 973-635-6629.


Where/When: , Montville; Saturday, 1-3 p.m.
Why Go: Because attendees can hike the mountain and learn about the balanced glacial erratic. For ages 7 or older. Pre-registration required at 973-334-3130.
Pricing: Free

Stuffed Animal Sleepover
Where/When: , Madison; from 4-5 p.m. on Thursday, and any time from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday.
Why Go: Because children between ages 2 and 6 can bring their favorite stuffed animals for a sleepover between 4 and 5 p.m. on Thursday (only the stuffed animal will be sleeping over). The non-stuffed attendees will have snacks and listen to a story, then tuck their stuffed animals in. When families go back on Friday to pick up the stuffed animals, they can find out what their stuffed animals were doing all night.
Pricing: $3 per participant plus regular admission for all others, which includes both days’ activities. Register by calling 973-377-2982, extension 12.
